The College, in its effort to maximize the teaching learning outcome, has established GSC that offers unique platform and opportunity to the students to have a wholesome learning experience. The important events organized and initiatives taken by this Centre has evidently opened the minds of the students to newer ways of thinking. Gandhi Study Circle of SLC aims to revisit, review and debate Gandhi and his teachings with the young generation. It also tries to inculcate Gandhian values and ideals such as simplicity and selflessness among the students. The Circle works on the principle of reviving Gandhian teachings on the integrated view of life that unites the whole of humanity beyond the forces of religion and communalism.

Gandhi Study Circle, SLC organized a Seminar on 30th January 2017 on the topic "Gandhi in the New Millennium". Dr. Anil Dutta Mishra, Gandhian Scholar and Writer were the speaker for the Seminar. Dr Rabi Narayan Kar (Principal, SLC) Dr.Sitaram Kumbhar (Convenor ,GSC) Dr.Neena Shireesh (T.I.C, Department of Political Science), Dr.Supriti Mishra and other Faculty Members & Students attended the Seminar.
GSC, Indian Parliament Tour on 13 February 2017
The GSC took the college students on a Study tour to Indian Parliament on 13 February 2017. The students got first hand information regarding the function of Indian democracy and Indian parliament.

The Gandhi Study Circle of SLC has been endeavoring to inculcate Gandhian Values and ideals among the students through various academic activities. In this sequence, it organised two special seminars with eminent Gandhian academicians as speakers during the present academic session. The students of SLC attempted to express Gandhi and his visions through painting, arts and other activities.
Sri Satya Narayana Sahu, Joint Secretary, Rajya Sabha was one of the eminent speakers on "Relevance of Gandhian Thoughts for the Present Youths" on 2nd October 2016.
