BIS is India’s National Standard body. It is responsible for standardization, marking, and quality certification of goods. BIS plays a pivotal role in ensuring safe and reliable products. It minimizes health hazards to consumers and protects the environment. BIS also supports the national economy and promotes exports. It also helps to control the proliferation of product varieties. Apart from benefitting the consumers and industry, the standards and certification scheme of BIS also supports various public policies, especially in the areas of product safety, consumer protection, food safety, environment protection, building and construction and so on..

Valedictory Ceremony for World Standard Day Celebrations 2023
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Dr. Alok Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary at the Association of Indian Universities, who served as the Chief Guest. Dr. Aditya Ghildiyal, President of the Association of Greater Noida Industries and Head of HR at New Holland Agriculture and Ms. Sneha Lata, Scientist-F, Senior Director & Head, Delhi Branch Office 2, BIS were the Guests of Honour.

Achievements: The ceremony's highlight was the recognition of outstanding performances during the technical fest. Prizes were presented to the winners of various competitions thereby acknowledging their efforts and contributions.
