Sumit Kumar Bhati completed his M.Sc. in Physics from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. Prior to his current position, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Engineering Seismology Division at the Central Water and Power Research Station in Pune. His tenure in Engineering Seismology sparked a keen interest in the field of Seismology. During this period, he contributed to various Seismic surveillance studies for river valley projects across India, Nepal, and Bhutan. His responsibilities included selecting suitable sites for seismological observatories, installing seismic equipment, and analyzing and interpreting seismological data from January 2019 to August 2024. Since August 2023, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at Shyam Lal College, University of Delhi.
