SLC is the foremost college in East Delhi Campus of the University of Delhi with outstanding Sports facilities for games like Hockey, Netball, Volleyball, Wrestling and Kabbadi in which our players are continuously winning laurels for the institution. Presently students can participate in 09 different games/sport for which experts and coaches are also hired from outside. SLC Inter-Varsity Invitational Hockey tournament has already become an integral part of the University calendar. The College aims at promotion and improvement of sports and games in the trans-Yamuna region of Delhi by providing opportunities and best coaching facilities to the young and talented players from low-income groups or underprivileged sections of the society. The endeavour is to provide a platform to young talented players with state of the art amenities so that they learn, train and improve their standard in sports and games, and excel at the international and national level. For the purpose, the College is taking a new initiative to provide free and regular coaching in the above mentioned games to deserving and talented senior secondary students from neighbouring government schools. The aim is also to promote indigenous games among the youth who are in some ways unaware of the vast career possibilities to be explored in our national games and sports. Under the scheme, various regular activities/programs and coaching camps are being organized in which the players will be provided kits, sports material and other amenities. The scheme also facilitates participation of selected and groomed players in major tournaments so as to expose them to higher levels of competition.
