The theme of the conference is “Sustainability, Technology, and Education: Driving Innovations for Viksit Bharat@2047”. Additionally, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a landmark policy aimed at transforming India's educational landscape, with a forward-looking vision for a Viksit Bharat
by 2047. The policy emphasizes sustainability, technology integration, and innovation in education, which aligns with India’s global aspirations for development where -.
1. Sustainability
Environmental Sustainability: Focuses on practices that support the environment, including clean energy, waste management, and conservation of natural resources. The idea is to promote a green economy and climate-resilient strategies in India to ensure a balanced, sustainable future.
Social Sustainability: Ensuring inclusive development where growth benefits all sectors of society, including marginalized communities, and ensures equal access to resources and opportunities.Economic Sustainability: Developing long-term economic growth without depleting the resources of the
country. This can involve fostering industries that thrive on sustainable practices and ensuring a circular economy.
2. Technology
Digital Transformation: Leveraging technological advancements such as AI, machine learning, big data, IoT, and blockchain to address societal challenges and improve governance, healthcare,education, and more.
Innovation in Industry and Services: Encouraging the development and application of cutting-edge technologies to fuel economic growth, improve productivity, and create new job sectors, focusing on clean technologies and sustainable practices
Smart Infrastructure: Emphasizing the importance of smart cities, sustainable transportation, and efficient use of technology in urban planning, water management, and energy systems.
3. Education
Technological Integration in Education: Incorporating technology into educational practices to enhance learning experiences, make education more accessible, and ensure it is aligned with global advancements in knowledge and skill sets.
Research and Development: Encouraging academic institutions to drive research on sustainable solutions, technological advancements, and innovation which will directly contribute to India's future growth and global standing.
Skill Development: Developing a workforce equipped with the right skills to adapt to new technologies and sustainable practices, ensuring that people are ready for future challenges
4. Driving Innovations for Viksit Bharat@2047
Vision for 2047: The theme envisions India as a developed nation by 2047,where sustainable development, technological advances, and high-quality education play crucial roles in shaping its economy and global standing.
Collaboration: Encouraging collaboration between government bodies, industries, and educational institutions to foster innovation in these areas.
Policy Formulation and Implementation: Advocating for the creation and implementation of policies that promote sustainable growth, technological advancement, and quality education.
Path to Viksit Bharat by 2047: NEP 2020 envisions an India that is not only economically developed but also socially inclusive, environmentally sustainable, and technologically advanced. By 2047, a Viksit Bharat will see – a skilled workforce empowered through vocational and digital
education, a knowledge-driven economy where research and innovation are the cornerstones of growth, an inclusive education system where no child is left behind, ensuring equitable access to high- quality
education for all, regardless of background or location, sustainability at the core of all sectors, from education to business and governance, with students and professionals contributing to the green economy.
In essence, this theme calls for a holistic approach to India's development where sustainability is integrated with technological innovation and educational reforms to build a progressive, self-reliant,and globally competitive
nation by 2047.
