The Debating society of Shyam Lal College has a legacy of fostering ideas and visions unique to every individual, here at Sheershasth we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and interactive space encouraging discussion and debate across fields so as to facilitate the cognitive and holistic growth of all our members molding them into refined orators and thinkers. Over the 8 years of its existence, Sheershasth has grown and expanded substantially in multiple aspects evolving into a very close knit community with every batch contributing something different to the society development in their own way. Moreover, we have a legacy of organizing the edition of Shyam Lal Youth Parliament and Orator’s Bout a multi-level debate competition which comprises of conventional as well as turncoat also event like Extemporaneous and Group Discussions are organized. The society actively participate in the debates at National and State level too, Orator’s irrespective of language are welcomed as this is a bilingual society where both Hindi and English are provided equal importance and platform. We hold a neutral stance on political subjects as we believe in developing good orators and not politicians. Moving forward we aim to only honour our common values upholding the aspirations and rights of every being to express themselves and reaffirm our commitment to help our members find and explore their true potential promoting individuality and providing a voice to their ideas.
