INSIGNIA, the music band of Shyam Lal College has been rising over the years and has been setting the stage on fire with their astounding performances in various colleges inside as well as outside Delhi. The main aim of the society is to spread music in different forms with different styles and genres using different instruments. All the great efforts put by the convener of the society Mr. Abbas Tapadar and his team have always uplifted the band and his motivation and his support are the major reasons for the society’s success. Genres: INSIGNIA has been playing in different genres, fusions and improvising different covers in the western as well as classical Styles. It has been trying to give different numbers a simple touch with a strong technical base. The most common genre used by the band is classical rock addition to which funk and jazz in support with it gives uniqueness and class to the number.

INSIGNIA represented the college at various institutions and outside Delhi grabbing many rewards adding to the success of the society. INSIGNIA stood runners up in the battle of bands competition MANTARA held at Asia’s Largest College cultural fest; Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay! The band performed with the popular Bollywood playback singer, Ms Kavita Seth at the Falcon Films Festival held at Shyam Lal Collage. Insignia participated in various competitions across DU and other universities including Symbiosis International University.
