NSS(National Service Scheme)

The socially aware students of our College are very much awake to the needs of nation building and social upliftment. The National Cadet Corps and the National Service Scheme offer ample opportunities to students to learn and contribute in these fields. It is compulsory for students to join either nss or NSS and participate in their diverse programs. Both these units of our College are quite dynamic and have provided our students with opportunities to participate in a wide array of activities, and the students can choose either, depending on their interest. While the NSS unit regularly organizes Blood Donation Camps and social awareness campaigns for our students to participate in, the nss offers them basic military training. Students enrolled with the nss unit are instructed in rifle shooting, the use of ammunitions, basic first-aid, mountaineering and trekking through tough terrains, along with participation in drills and parades.

Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Sardar VallabhBhai Patel on 31st Oct, 2017.

NSS Unit of Shyam Lal College, University of Delhi observed " Nation Salutes Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel" on 31st Oct, 2017 to honour the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel by organizing a street Play titled "KYA YAHI VO BHARAT HAI " . The play was conducted in association with "Aakrosh" the Street Play Society of Shyam Lal College. Modern Indian history is incomplete without Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. His vision, his work, and his principles were highly remarkable in Independent India. He had a vision for India to consolidate it into one united country. The play tried to create a contrast between how our great freedom fighters visioned India and how it has actually become and how we just forgot their sacrifices and have lead towards a corrupted nation.
